<p>A bit about us:</p>
<p>Named in the top 5 &#8220;ones to watch&#8221; in 2009 by Web Designer Magazine, VI has grown to a team of 25 in just under 2 1/2 years. We describe ourselves as an innovation led digital agency: we focus on innovations in technology for ways of solving our clients’ problems.We chose to position our costing in fierce competition against our peers so as to have the opportunity to work with the great clients that we already have done such as the BBC, Vauxhall, Virgin Media and Cartoon Network.</p>
<p>This is a full time position with a salary of £22-24k gross per year plus bonus and benefits like duvet days, weekly staff lunches, company phone, tuition and enrichment days.</p>
<p>Basic salary of £22-24k gross per year + commission. You get a percentage of any project you source or encourage from your clients, on target equates to an equivalent of £36k+ per year. This is structured as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li>5% on any project you bring in</li>
<li>If you reach £20k in any one month, this increases to 6%</li>
<li>If you reach £30k in any one month, this increases to 7%</li>
<li>and so on to a maximum of 10%</li>
</ul>
<p>This is a full time position with benefits like duvet days, weekly staff lunches, company phone, tuition and enrichment days.</p>

<p>Econsultancy is one of the largest and most trusted marketing think tanks in the world &#8211; the knowledge base of our industry.  They consult and train some of the largest brands in Europe and the USA on digital marketing and e-commerce; Google, Nike, Virgin and many other bluechips all rely on them for the latest data, analysis and training.</p>
<h3>Setting</h3>
<p>CEO Ashley Friedlein asked us to work with them on increasing conversion, describing us as an agency that was &#8220;small enough to care, but large enough to deliver &#8211; a balance of great design and a real understanding of online metrics.&#8221;  It was a great opportunity to help those who wrote the book on best practice.</p>
<p>VI was tasked with clarifying who Econsultancy were and the services they provide, lowering their bounce rate and increasing conversion off of the homepage.</p>
<p>Close to 9,000 users a month were exiting the homepage without clicking a single link and another 5% of their 27,000 unique visitors didn&#8217;t even realise they were on the homepage.  We realised that if we could bring these numbers down through better design, we could, for example, grow their silver memberships by over half a million pounds a year.</p>
<p>Econsultancy&#8217;s message had become unclear; with a complex offering of services and no emotional hook, conversion rates had suffered.  Although the site had been pulling in traffic to the tune of 200,000 visitors a month, only 300 of these were new paying customers &#8211; a conversion rate of little more than 1%.</p>
